Friends, From organizers e-mail - registration closed for the pan-american with nearly 1700 participants (swimming, synchr, and open water). It is going to be a really big event... Isn't that about the same number of participants as 2011 Pan Ams in Rio?

I totally agree with you knelson!!!! I'm very excited about this meet! I have a daughter who is doing her clinicals @ Sarasota hospital and I plan to stay with her and swim the meet!!! Some people on this forum tend to forget that other people have opinions and needs. I'm glad there are different strokes for different folks! Nothing like dredging up a post from July of last year and commenting on it 8 months later! :rolleyes: If you read my reply, it was a point well taken; knelson was right.

Hey Elaine, maybe you ought to step back and read your posts. Yeah, I know you're talking about your personal reasons for not wanting to attend, but do you really need about five posts discussing how horrible a meet Pan Ams is going to be? How about a little respect for the meet organizers who are working hard to make this a successful meet! I totally agree with you knelson!!!! I'm very excited about this meet! Hey Everybody: I need some help with the Pan Am games. One of my friends would like to register by paper. Can someone help me? Paper entries are not being accepted for the Pan American championships. As Rob suggested, perhaps your friend can find someone with a computer to do the entry for him. Another suggestion, for those who don't like to use their credit cards online, is to purchase a Visa gift card and then use that to pay online.

Knott's Berry Farm is awesome. Cheaper than Disneyland and just as much fun (as far as rides go)- of course there isn't a famous mouse! I took my son there during the 2006 Nationals in MViejo. It was about 30 min up the freeway from the pool. I recommend it.

Sarasota is a beer drinkin' place. And wine. I'm definitely going....love that pool and swam my best masters time ever there in the 100 back.

They do test for beer, and if you didn't have any the night before they don't let you swim. :bolt: A shot of blackberry brandy is equivalent to how many ounces of beer?:)

I have never swum in an Inter-national meet. Do they do drug testing? because the meds I take might show up. As long they don't test for pizza and beer I'm good.

Haven't seen anything about registration for Pan Ams. It said the registration would be open 11/6/12, but haven't found any online registration. Am I missing something, or has it just not been posted yet?

The 2013 Pan-American Masters Championship online entry is open as of this morning at www.usms.org/.../onlineentry.php. We haven't yet updated the Pan-Ams site to show this, but that update will be done today. Thanks for the update!
