Bummer. My buddy is in the heat right before me in three events. But that means we will be in different pools. How are we supposed to heckle eachother???

Only one way to find out. During distance day would be a good time for a test. Not as many people around. Perhaps just prior to the start of Geek's 1650. Let us know how it goes! :lmao: :rofl: Well, That Guy, since you were the one with the, uhhh, interesting idea, perhaps you should give it a try sometime and let us know how it goes. ;) As for me, I will still be on the road during the 1650, so I will have to leave it to one of the other Forumites to test the USMS rules. :cheerleader:

Rob Copeland answered the same question for me on another Nats. thread. Yes, the pool will be open until 7:00 PM, on Thursday. :D Cool, thanks. And of course, moments later I got that question, and many others I didn't even know I had, answered in the latest update email!

Greensboro has only one competition pool for this meet. We will be swimming across the 50 meter pool. So men's heat one will be in the odd end of the pool and men's heat 2 will be in the even end. Unlike Georgia Tech, there is no bulkhead. There will be I think, two lanes that will be a buffer between the odd and even ends. It is a great facility. You will love it.

All Women's heats are completed first, then the Men's heats are run. Except the 1000 and 1650 freestyle events will be seeded by time (men and women combined).

Does anyone know if the pool will be open for some post-travel swimming on Thursday afternoon? We're driving about 10 hours, so I'd like a chance to stretch out on Thursday, but the meet is only scheduled to go until 3:50. Rob Copeland answered the same question for me on another Nats. thread. Yes, the pool will be open until 7:00 PM, on Thursday. :D

I have a couple questions about the venue. This may have been e-mailed out and I missed it so I apologize for any redundancies. 1. Will there be a fee for parking for athletes? Spectators? If so how much and is it per day or can you get a weekend pass? 2. Will there be an admission charge for spectators and if so, how much? 3. Is the athlete staging area on deck and/or in the stands? Again I am sorry if you have already answered these questions; I appreciate your assistance!!!

Yes, there is a parking fee for all. No, I have never heard of spectators being charged anything. There is no staging area. You show up behind the block at the correct heat. As to seeding. Men and Women use both pools. Odd numbered heats are in one pool and even number heats are in the other. So if you swim in Heat 5, you are in one pool. Heat 6 will be in the other pool. All Women's heats are completed first, then the Men's heats are run. You have to be alert to be at the correct pool. Also, if you are in heat 10, you don't have 9 heats to wait. In your pool there will be only heats 2,4,6,8. Once the meet gets going, it is not too confusing.

PWB is correctomundo. All men then all women in pools next to each other. Make sure that you know which pool you are swimming in !!!!!! I saw some swimmers miss their race because they were at the incorrect pool ---- no extra swims are allowed! :badday:

Timeline is here -- www.usms.org/.../timeline.pdf -- so it'll be all heats of a woman's event, then all heats of a men's event. Time between events (even back-to-back) is NEVER an issue at SCY Nationals. If anything, there's too MUCH time between events. Well, except for sprinters ... I hear they're still pushing for that movement to make the 50s as broken at the 25 for 30 minutes.:bolt:
