That's Leslie's age group. She been corrupting all her peers to think 50s are the way to go! And they are in LCM! I could maybe have completed the event in 8:00 or 9:00. :D I love me some lazy double arm after a near drowning the first 100.

Was there NOBODY entered in the 400 IM at Auburn? Or am I just missing something? I was really surprised when I saw that. There were plenty of 45-49 women (12), and 55-59 women (10), but for some reason 50-54 was empty in the 4 IM.

Wow, I am surprized. I agree long course 400 IM is a butt kicker though. Was thinking about training for it for next year but will have to see the order of events for Omaha - will swim either that or 800.

I went to the Sports Medicine meeting on Weds at Nats.The last slide was"The best way to avoid drowning,don't swim the 400 IM. :lmao: Allen, point well taken! I think I'll stick with trying not to drown during my 200 breaststroke, tomorrow... :afraid:

It does seem odd doesn't it? The 400IM is no joke... Swimming it long course is even more intense. The very best swimmers in the world talk about (and quit) it all the time. I've learned my lessons on entering the 400IM race. With key races following, there is nothing cruise or race prep about the long course 4IM. Let's revisit the thought for SCM. :) But that's just me.

A total of 30 women age 50-54 entered the 2011 Summer Nationals but no one entered the 400 IM.
