1/4 ton seems a little heavy (1 ton = 2000 pounds)
1/8 of a ton would be a little closer to an avg. adult, but may still be a little high...

RE: Places to eat at Nationals

STOP with the food !! It's actually a real place!!! Cool!! At first I thought you guys were just messing with me about the fast food stuff. I don't think I'll be eating one of those quad-burgers anyway. I'd probably be at the bottom of the pool later!! :bolt:

I ate there twice last april. first time I put down the 1lb with fries and a corona. second time 4 days later I tried the 2 lb with fries and a coke. got all but the last two bites down. nothing I could do to make myself eat that last of it. so disappointed.

but just read they are opening one in dallas, so I might have to make a second attempt at the 2lb burger this summer

RE: Places to eat at Nationals

Where can we find the Merciless Pepper of Quetzalacatenango?I have no clue of what you speak, but if you want some heat with your beer, head to Cave Creek for their Chili Beer (http://www.chilibeer.com/). If you do head to Cave Creek and want the finest dining experience in the Valley (foodie-wise), make reservations for Binkley's (binkleysrestaurant.com/) or go more casual (and likely reservation-less) at Cafe Bink (also off the other link).

Other areas for food choices:

Kierland Commons (www.kierlandcommons.com/dining) in North Scottsdale has a number of good restaurants. My favorite is The Greene House, but North offers some great Italian food.
Biltmore Fashion Park (www.shopbiltmore.com/Dining) along Camelback Road at 24th Street has some good choices. There's a True Food branch there, as well as my favorite burger, Zin Burger.
The entire Camelback corridor from 24th Street east towards Scottsdale Road has a number of great restaurants.
A more 'local gem' area is around 40th Street and Campbell (just south of Camelback) where you can find La Grande Orange (www.lagrandeorangegrocery.com/) and Postino (www.postinowinecafe.com/, great wine/tapas/appetizers) and a few other restaurants.
Of course, Old Town Scottsdale has some great places, but there are also a fair share of tourist traps -- decent, but over-priced food.

Feel free to PM me with any specific dining / location request.

RE: Places to eat at Nationals

WOW!!!! Oh yea it is real, it has been featured on Food Network a few times. I've never been (I don't eat red meat), but have heard that the waitresses wear nurse uniforms.

Let me know if there's any particular kind of food you're looking for, if you'll have a car, and about what your budget is, and I can give a few recommendations.

Offhand, I'll say that Four Peaks is always a good choice (and it is only about 5-10 min walk from a rail stop).

RE: Places to eat at Nationals

Here you go:

Heart Attack Grill
Pretty easy to get to using freeways.

There's a good selection of food options near US 60/Stapley. From the Kino pool, if you head over to Stapley Road (either go east on Brown, or south on Horne, then east on University, go south once on Stapley), once you cross the US 60, there's tons of food options in the area on both sides of Stapley between the US 60 and Baseline Rd. Macaroni Grill, Salty Senorita, McGrath's Fish House, plus tons of more stuff. There's a Wal-Mart there if you need to stock up on anything.
