Hi Stephanie, The way the rules are for YMCA's is that the only qualifier is that you must be a member with full prevliages for 90 days prior to the competition. That is how one qualifies. Unlike USMS which does have NQT's if you choose to swim more than 3 events at Nationals. Hope to see a strong showing from the Pittsburgh area in Indy.

So, in theory, a person could miss the regional/district meet in on April 9th/10th (here in PA, anyway) and still be qualified to go to Nationals? There's a guy on our team who wants to swim Nationals, but is already registered for the Powerman Duathlon in Alabama on April 10th. That's what the question's for. This helps a lot, thanks! Steph

The rule says "A swimmer must be an annual member of the YMCA represented and entitled to full physical activity privileges of that association (keyword association) for a minimum of ninety (90) days prior to the first day of competition" Hope this helps.
