Is the meet next year going to be at the Hall of Fame pool? Someone once said that there was a new pool being built in Ft. Lauderdale

RE: 2005 SC Nationals

Michael is correct that the house of delegates at the annual convention makes the final decision on the order of events. Tyically every three years, the championship committee submits a series of schedules for the house to select from. Three are chosen and used in a the rotation listed above.

The exception occurs when the bidder decides they wish to run a 5-day meet rather than a 4-day meet. At this time, we have no standard 5-day schedules, so if the bid is successful, we have to make one up. This happened last year for Rutgers and will happen again for the Mission Viejo meet in 2005. The host club working with their liaison to the championship committee comes up with a schedule. It is submitted to the championship committee. From there it goes to the house of delegates for approval.

For the Mission Viejo meet in summer 2005, we are in the middle of this process. The schedule will be finalized this fall at the annual convention.

And no.

According to rule 104.5.2D -

Alternative Meet Schedules - A meet bidder may, with the approval of the Championship Committee, bid for a national championship with a different schedule from those defined in 104.5.2A (the one I just posted above).

There is a preset order, though I think it&#39;s fairly rare that a bidder uses anything different that what is presented in the rules.

Secondly, can someone put up the link again that stated the order of events for the next six or so LC and SC nationals? Thanks!

To my knowledge there isn&#39;t a preset orer of events for nationals. It changes slightly from year to year. There are guidelines abuot the order of events, but they allow room to play, and it&#39;s up to each event&#39;s host to come up with the final order of events.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: 2005 SC Nationals

Whoops.. That&#39;s where the copy/paste broke off and I had to do 2 sections and combine them into one. Must have overlapped them. It should be fixed now.

Does the bidder really care that much for a particular schedule to risk having the Championships Committee say &quot;no.&quot;

Of course, the winning bidder could come back and make an argument for a particular schedule and if it is reasonable, the committee may vote to send it to the House.

In any case is the House of Delegates that makes the final decision about the order of events.

Why would you want to make a change in the Meet Schedule? (This is said by a person who when the meet schedule comes up for discussion, tends to roll his eyes and get some sleep).

I have seen the list that shows the rotation of the order of events, I just can&#39;t find it using SEARCH.

I think Mary Pohlman has it handy because she just ran a post the other day which indicated the order for a meet down the line, can&#39;t remember.<div style="clear:both;"></div>
