I will think about adding splits. It can be done but is slightly more technically complicated.

It would be easier to implement when USMS provides API access to its data.

I recently built this website that lets Masters Swimmers enter their Swimmer ID and view analytics of their progression with meet times: https://www.usmsdata.org/. Think of it as a minimal Swimcloud for US Masters Swimming!

For example, if your USMS ID number is 456B-MZ99C, enter only the last five digits after the dash, which is your Swimmer ID. into the app. Here's my profile on the app in case anyone no longer has an active ID: https://www.usmsdata.org/?swimmerID=MZ99C.

I built this to easily find my overall personal best times and PBs within my age group (as I get older and can't hit my previous PBs). Any feedback would be appreciated!

I am a swimmer from the Pacific Northwest LMSC. I learned to swim three years ago and went to my first meet six months after learning! I love the energy of meets.

I like the graphic display of events swam. I have always been a marh geek, and graphs are so cool! Your recent addition of events swam vs available is a plus. Once again, being a math head i am constantly analyzing splits, but adding them to this site seems a little cumbersome. I am very happy with what you have done, and thank you.

Hello all, I completely updated the website UI with a new design!

I added Event Coverage - Have you raced all distances in all strokes at meets?

This shows whether you have raced all of the events in the stroke and course. The idea is to encourage folks to try new strokes, events, and courses at meets, and to encourage our less "competitive," "time"-driven folks to come out to meets and eventually compete for a "bingo" card of all events.

You can also see your FLOG distance for those who are using it. And for those who don't, a link to use it!

Yes, all of the data in this database is missing from the 1970s to 2000.

Ah, I get the available data from the USMS Individual Results database. For example, the app would have used this data:

Is there data that's missing from the USMS Individual Results database?

I have been swimming Masters since the early 1980s but your charts only go back to 2000 ....right ...or did I miss something?

You should be able to filter by age group or by last x meets on most charts - how do I make the app less depressing, haha?

This is an amazing tool that you have created, Jennifer. I have swum Masters for over 40 years and to even go back to 2000 is interesting (and depressing to see as we age). Thank you for your efforts and good to see your Masters swimming journey is a fun one for you.

New updates (as of 4/20/26)

- NQT Comparison (compare your PBs, your PBs in your current age group, or previous meet times to National Qualifying Times with different age groups. For example, I used the tool to find that I need to drop 13 seconds to qualify for an NQT time for my current age group, 30-34, but I would qualify already if I maintained the time at 80-84!)

- Olympic Time Machine (Could you LCM PBs have made the Olympic final in any year? I would not have been an Olympic Finalist in any year, but the difference in time between the winner of the 200 breast LCM in 1924, and my personal best is "only 58.56 seconds.)

1. Yes, I used Claude and ChatGPT (their Codex tool) to develop it. I also have experience in software development prior to AI, so I made a few updates manually as well.

2. That's cool to know you're also using AI - do you use AI for data analysis for swim times? That's another major reason I am building it: I think there are many opportunities for AI-powered swim data analysis and gamification.

3. I would love to learn more about the Relay conference! I would love to present it, along with any insights you think would be valuable to your coaches and volunteers.

Jennifer this is great. Thank you so much for sharing this and congratulations on all of your swimming accomplishments. It is so wonderful to learn about our new swimmers and how the are contributing to our larger community. Did you use Claude Ai to create this tool? I have been using Claude for creating data analysis for various projects. Would love to see you share this on a larger scale with our coaches and volunteers at an upcoming Relay conference in the fall.

My understanding of the terminology is that trans men are females who identify as males and trans women were born men and identify as femaile. So a trans male competing with the men is not a problem because that person is at a disadvantage. A trans female competing against people who were born female is the problem.

The problem with the interim policy is that birth certificates can be changed in some places and it will be hard to detect that they have been changed. So a trans female could indeed swim with the women and have an advantage if she was born in a place where her birth certificate could be changed from male to female.

I think it is a sign how dead the forum is that no one has commented on the new interim rule on assigned gender in competition.

If I understand it, one can swim in the heats with your identified gender but National Recognition (Top Ten, All American , Records) would be by gender assigned at birth. Local meets would follow local local laws so it is possible in some jurisdictions transwomen could win medals as women. Interestingly it looks to me that Nationals will follow the local jurisdiction rules.

My question is what about transmen. If I am understanding it they would be eligible for Top Ten etc as a woman even though they would certainly have higher testosterone and at some meets wouldn't swim with the women.

I think this overall is an improvement, but certainly controversial. and probably a work in progress(it is interim)

It is an idiotic response to a simple problem. Men - Women. There are no in- betweens, no crossovers. By allowing a mental illness to be recognized as anywhere near normal destroys the simplicity and dignity of the sport.

An interim rule is no rule at all. It only means that some activist group has scared the board into doing something they should never have considered. Ever.

When will beginning 2026 SCM rankings be posted

There have already been SCM events in 2026, but the rankings only shows 2025 as the last possibility.
