USMS Results Data Analysis

I recently built this website that lets Masters Swimmers enter their Swimmer ID and view analytics of their progression with meet times: https://www.usmsdata.org/. Think of it as a minimal Swimcloud for US Masters Swimming!

For example, if your USMS ID number is 456B-MZ99C, enter only the last five digits after the dash, which is your Swimmer ID. into the app. Here's my profile on the app in case anyone no longer has an active ID: https://www.usmsdata.org/?swimmerID=MZ99C.

I built this to easily find my overall personal best times and PBs within my age group (as I get older and can't hit my previous PBs). Any feedback would be appreciated!

I am a swimmer from the Pacific Northwest LMSC. I learned to swim three years ago and went to my first meet six months after learning! I love the energy of meets.

Gender and competition

I think it is a sign how dead the forum is that no one has commented on the new interim rule on assigned gender in competition.

If I understand it, one can swim in the heats with your identified gender but National Recognition (Top Ten, All American , Records) would be by gender assigned at birth. Local meets would follow local local laws so it is possible in some jurisdictions transwomen could win medals as women. Interestingly it looks to me that Nationals will follow the local jurisdiction rules.

My question is what about transmen. If I am understanding it they would be eligible for Top Ten etc as a woman even though they would certainly have higher testosterone and at some meets wouldn't swim with the women.

I think this overall is an improvement, but certainly controversial. and probably a work in progress(it is interim)

There have already been SCM events in 2026, but the rankings only shows 2025 as the last possibility.

2026 South Central Zone Spring SCY Championships

The 2026 South Central Zone Spring Championships, at the world class Conroe ISD Natatorium, will be held on Fri Mar 27 - Sun Mar 29, 2026 and is hosted by the Woodlands Masters Swim Team. Registration will open on Monday December 8th.

The Natatorium is in the Woodlands, just outside of Houston TX, and has easy access to Houston Intercontinental Airport. The Woodlands has a wide variety of lodging, eating and entertainment establishments. Map link for pool.

LCM/SCM Meets in Little Rock 1/16-18/2026

Just wanted to let everyone know registration has opened for the 4th annual "First Chance Long Course Invitational" and the "Arkansas SCM Invitational."

Both meets are held at the Donaghey Student Center on the campus of University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The Long Course meet will be a single day/single session affair with all events offered on Friday, 1/16. The Short Course meet will be a two day/three session affair with all events offered: two sessions (one AM and one PM) on Saturday, 1/17 and one session (AM) on Sunday, 1/18.

This is a fast meet, with over 40 world and national records broken over the past three years!

You will need a valid 2026 USMS membership to register.

Both meets can be found in the "Calendar of Events" on the USMS website. Please find the links to the meet websites below as well.

3X Olympian Elizabeth Biesel comes to Charles River Aquatics at Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley on September 14. She will be coaching and swimming with Masters swimmers at a clinic from 2-2:50. Participant are also invited to bring family and stay for an open swim session at the end of the day. Details and registration for the event can be found here

Swim an Outside LCM meet in May!

Kudos to Ann Marshfield who told me to post! If you are in Minnesota on Friday, May 30th come to the one and only Swim INTO summer LCM meet. Is the pool super fast? No. Are the vibes high? Yes! Is there a silly relay? Absolutely. This meet is a local favorite and everyone has fun. It runs quick and encourages you to take a "summer Friday" off. For you out of towners, you can watch the planes on last approach to the airport so you know you are close.

Join us for this exciting new LCM swim meet at this elite facility in Northeast Ohio. SPIRE Academy hosted USMS 2015 & 2021 LCM National Championships!

College Club Swimmers (CCS) entry fee is $30, all others $60.

You may swim 5 individual events and 2 relays. We are offering 800 free relay, 400 free relay, 400 medley relay, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.

The 1500m is limited to 20 swimmers and the 800 is limited to 30 swimmers.

Meet warm-ups will commence at 10 am for the distance events. All other events will commence no sooner than 12:30 pm.

How do I change club affiliation?

I moved to a new area at the end of 2024. When I registered for USMS for 2025, I listed a USMS Team near my new home as my affiliated club. Now I have discovered a different team and would like to change affiliations. I want to register accurately for an upcoming meet. I can’t see where to change clubs on the website. Thanks in advance

South Central Zone Spring Championships in Houston, TX on Apr 4 - 6, 2025

The South Central Zone Spring Championships are open for registration. The competition is at the WW Emmons Natatorium, located near the beltway and I-10 and close to the City Centre and Memorial City areas with plenty of lodging, restaurants and things to do.

The pool has Colorado Gen 7 timing equipment, plenty of indoor seating as well as a large outdoor area for set up. The average high in early April is upper 70s and the average low is in the upper 50s.

Friday distance events with a later start on Saturday to allow people who are driving in from nearby and only want to spend one night. Earlier start on Sunday.

Both airports (IAH and Hobby) are about 25 miles away. For information and registration, Click Here.

World Masters Games / Taiwan - USMS Recognized Event?

I see that the Pan American Games held last summer were recognized- does anyone know if the World Masters Games in Taiwan (May 2025) will be sanctioned as official times by USMS?

I’ve contacted the officials and it’s unfortunately not going to be a FINA / World Aquatics registered event so I’m guessing chances are slim that USMS will recognize?
