Maybe if there were something like 15-20 stages (logistically impossible, I know) I might be able to swing a 3-5 mile swim!

skip storch swam the hudson from albany to manhattan in 20x 2 hour stages taking advantage of peak ebb flows. 2 tidal cycles/day. he was able to maintain speeds of &amp;gt;3knots.
